MINNEAPOLIS -- Electronic companies are getting some face-time in Las Vegas

"We feel like a piece of sand on the beach, but we're here now," says Tim Fisher from Bracketron.

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas is one of the biggest trade shows in the world and showcases everything high-tech.

Getting into the massive show can create serious buzz around your product and some Minnesota-based companies are doing just that.

Bracketron creates mounting brackets for mobile devices like GPS units, iPads, and smartphones. The Edina-based company is unveiling their products at CES for the first time including desk mounts for cellphones and a bracketing device that would hold an iPad in the car.

"'It's one thing to go there and be amongst the 25,000 exhibitors," says Fisher. "But when you're Bracketron and there's people coming in and saying I heard about you, it's very humbling."

Imation is showcasing dozens of new products in Las Vegas, too. The company, located in Oakdale, is especially excited about their new line of boomboxes. The staff at Imation say consumers miss the "warmth and feel" of the retro product they grew up with.

"We're really bringing everything forward by allowing people to have the experience of the boombox era with their modern devices such as an iPod and iPhone," says Grant Olafson from Imation.

The device features touch-screen technology, digital-quality sound, and offers USB connectivity.

The Consumer Electronic Show runs from January 6th through the 9th.
