Question: Is iRoom's iDock compatible with iPad™ 1 and iPad™ 2?
Answer: Yes, both versions of iRoom‘s iDock (Portrait and Landscape) are fully compatible with both generations of Apple‘s iPad™. iRoom’s iDock Portrait was originally designed for iPad™ 1, but can be upgraded easily to be compatible to iPad™ 2 by using the iPad™ 2 Kit, consisting of a small insert and the fitting bezel for the latest version of the iPad™. iRoom iDock Landscape was designed for iPad™ 2 but also can be converted to fit the first generation of the iPad™ by changing the guide rails and the bezel. The guide rails and bezel for iPad™ 1 are part oft he packing list of iRoom’s iDock Landscape.

Question: What is necessary to control my home via iPad™?
Answer: There is a wide range of possibilities for home control via iPad™. Most providers of home automation software – AMX, RTI, Control 4 to only name a few – offer applications that can be downloaded through the Apple App store. The technical requirements for these systems differ.

Question: Will iRoom's iDock also be compatible with future iPad™ designs?
Answer: Yes, our concept is to provide a modular system that allows to keep the same iRoom iDock and installtion box and only change ruide rails and bezels to fit newer generations of the iPad™.

Question: Is the installation box the same fot the portrait and landscape version?
Answer: Yes. Both iRoom iDock versions, portrait and landscape, use the same backbox to flush-mount the unit.

Question: Can the color of iRoom's iDock be customized?
Answer: The standard colors of iRoom’s iDock are piano black and opal white. Bezels are available in piano-black, opal white and silver. If you are interested in other bezel colors or have specific customization requests, please contact us directly.

Question: Can the proximity sensor of iRoom's iDock be deactivated?
Answer: Yes. Simlpy remove the jumper in the back of the iDock and you can easily connect the iDock to any other controlling unit like a fingerprint system or a code entry system.

Question: Are you also planing on developing and launching the iDock for other tablet PCs or smart phones?
Answer: With Apple’s current success as world market leader for tablet PCs we are fully focused to offer the perfect docking solution for Apple‘s iPad™, generation 1 and 2, as well as for all future generations.

Question: Is iRoom's iDock compatible with the new Lightning Connector?
Answer: Current versions of iRoom’s iDock (Portrait and Landscape) are shipped from iRoom compatible with the iPad 2 and iPad 3 out of the box. In March of 2013, we plan to begin shipment of iRoom iDock units that will support current Apple iPad 2, iPad 3 and the new iPad 4 product with the Lightning connector, the iDock units will ship with Lightning connectors installed to support the new iPad 4 and a conversion kit will also be included two support iPad 2, or iPad 3 products that utilized the 30 pin connector.

IRoom iDock units purchased before March 1, 2013 will require installation of a Lightning Connector Kit, to upgrade the units to support the new iPad 4 products. The Lightning Connector Kit includes the new Apple Lightning connectors, mounting hardware and instructions. The Lightning Connector Kits are planned to be available March 1, 2013. Please call iRoom customer service for additional information regarding pricing and availability of the “Lightning Connector Kits” for older iRoom iDock units.

Please note: all iRoom iDock units purchased between Feb 1st and March 1s, 2013 will include a voucher redeemable for a FREE OF CHARGE Lightning Connector Kit to upgrade the unit to support the Apple iPad 4 product.
